is there an alternate to democracy???

On a beautiful saturday evening, i was lolling down in my mom,s car waiting for my friend. And as usual he said he will be there in five minutes and his five minutes never came for another hour also.

So waiting there, bored and with no good music to play on, I tuned in the radio and the familar voice of that radio jockey sounded in. I dont know what frequency i tunned in or what station it was! but then the programm running was related to some social issues. The jockey was speaking about a incident that happened recently then. It was about a forgery that took place then recently, about a group who disguised as income tax officers and cheated. The highlight behind this incident is that main man behind this was an EX-MLA during the period of 96-2000 and he won that election standing for DMK party. Amidst of all that he won that election against one of the great parliamentarian MR. vaiko. Imagine how cheap are we!!!

we sit and blame about our politics and politicians still if we got a chance to elect someone good we wont. Instead majority of us will sit at home failing to cast a vote saying what change it is going to make and other group gets money and elects some crook. We elect people like the one mentioned above and we elect people like A.RAJA as our minister twice

Its cheap people who we are and we will get cheaper politicians only to lead us
Is this democracy???
when are we gonna change?
And is there an alternate to this bureaucrat democracy??

Think!!!!

Cheers

  1. Who knows, maybe that ex MLA forged the votes too! These politicians are capable of anything, as long as it is not doing what they promised the gullibe people during their canvassing for votes! Nowadays i get the feeling dictatorship is better, then atleast we will have only one person looting the common man's money and committing atrocities and not so many thugs in the name of 'ministers'!

  5. Well said...
We have grown up in such an environment, that v need incentives to do something...
What is the incentive for a person to go to a cricket match?? Watch is favourite player play..
same is the case with theatre or restaurant or beach..there is a self-benefit attached to everything, due to which, ppl are interested to go to these places...
Our people always look at it in a different angle. We consider it as a holiday and never go to the election booth..
One more thing, I would like to suggest is, Our country should have "voting by post" like the system that exist in US.
We complain a lot about the system, but, v r always forget that v r the system and only v need to change, which'll automatically change the system....hope, v change!!!!!
